At Strength:Lab we are passionate about sports and sports development for all ages.
Our ultimate goal is to help our athletes to enjoy their training by integrating it as a fun part into their daily routine. We do this by keeping up with and advancing the industry’s latest researched-based training styles, and ensuring that our athletes receive the highest quality of coaching to meet their specific goals. At Strength:Lab we have an undoubted love and passion for sports and sports development for all ages.
The team is led by Jateen Bhana who has a Bachelors degree in Sport Science (Distinction). His studies focused on the determining factors of distance running performance and youth movement and development. Jateen’s knowledge and skills both in the field of Sports Science (and to a lesser extent, Engineering (he has a BSc in Civil Engineering)) helps keep the focus on Sports Analysis, Performance, Recovery and Statistics for all our athletes.
A student of the sport since he began running in high school, he continues to apply advances in sports science to his programmes and workouts. As with his study of sports science, Jateen continues to learn from the athletes and other coaches, both old and young. When not in the gym or out on the running on the road, he is immersed in books on youth development, strength & conditioning and endurance running. Jateen is mentored by Sport Scientist, Simon Brundish (MSc. ASCC. CSCS) the founder and director of Strength:Lab Superheroes UK and the United Kingdom Strength & Conditioning Association (UKSCA) Youth S&C Coach of the Year in 2018.
At Strength:Lab we have developed a training regime by working with a variety of people, and always love adapting our program to new clients. Jateen has experience in training for, and taking part in various endurance events which include the Comrades Marathon (Silver Medal), the Two Oceans Marathon (Sainsbury Medal) and over 30 Marathons and Ultra Marathons with a Personal Best (PB/PR) of 2:47:47 at the 2013 London Marathon.
We take tremendous pride in guiding and coaching athletes, whether young or old, beginner or elite, to get the most out of their sport and to be the best they can be.
