#JULYEVERYDAYRUN

“No one is born a perfect runner. And none of us will become one. But through incremental steps, we can become better runners. And that’s the beauty of our sport: There are no shortcuts, nothing is given to us; we earn every kilometre and we earn every result.”

Talking of earning every kilometre we want to challenge YOU to make your running goal for July bigger than you! #JULYEVERYDAYRUN

The teams at Strength:Lab and Burn Club have joined forces for July 2020 #JulyEveryDayRun.

Let’s run a Rand/km every day in July and donate ALL proceeds from there at the end of the month to help all those in need during these trying ‘COVID-19‘ times. On your ‘rest days’ even 1km counts!  These virtual runs are the ultimate donation relay.

There might not be a race ‘start line’, or a stadium ‘finish’, but more than ever, we have a “crowd” to run for that needs your help, through the Gift of the Givers Foundation“.

The Gift of the Givers Foundation is the largest disaster-response non-governmental, organisation, of African origin on the African continent. The essence of their presence is to bring hope and restore dignity to the most vulnerable.

This challenge is dedicated to the the many destitute individuals and families who, due to the effect of COVID-19 virus pandemic in South Africa, have been left alone to face famine and basic human needs. We are hopeful that the ultimate #JulyEveryDayRun donation relay collection will assist towards the provision of food parcels and cooked meals.

From 1 July 2020 to 31 July 2020, let us work together to ‘collect’ as many kilometres as possible. Every kilometre you run will count towards the mission to raise donations for The Gift of the Givers Foundation .

It’s very simple, if you run 150km in the month, you donate R150.  You have the option of choosing different rates of R1, R2, R5 or R10 per KM. It’s ok if you skip a day and sneak in a rest day, we won’t tell anyone!

If you are not a runner and would still like to join the #JulyEveryDayRun team, its easy enough. Every minute you spend exercising, training or even walking will count towards the mission to raise donations. Donate for the minutes you exercise or walk at a rate of R10 per 30min or part thereof (eg. you exercise for 150 minutes for the month , you donate R50). If you are not the exercising type you are still welcome to donate and help raise the total contribution of #JulyEveryDayRun team. Sign up below and pledge your amount.

The Official Hastag for this initiative is #JulyEverydayRun. Please feel free to post as much as you want about the initiative on all social medial channels. With running, what you put in is what you get out. Use this as a challenge to increase your motivation, which lowers your perceived effort, knowing that every step you take out there helps someone through these difficult times we currently face. We all have a quest to achieve our own personal goals but make that goal about something bigger than you, this month!

Please encourage your fellow runners to join the cause at anytime during the month as every step helps and counts towards our collective goal.

Remember to maintain and stay within all your local COVID-19 social distancing exercise related guidelines.

Thank you for your support.
