Cindy Nel is a registered Physiotherapist who qualified from the University of Stellenbosch in 2004. She has worked in private practise for 13 years and has a special interest in Sports and Orthopaedic related injuries. Cindy joined the physiotherapy practise at Saint Stithians as a partner in 2018 and has branched out into The Strength Lab since 2019.
Cindy has worked with athletes at provincial, national and social level. She has experience with multiple sports including:

Netbal – SA Netball, Brutal Fruit Tournament, UJ Netball USSA, Sun City Coaching Clinics
Gymnastics – Visions Gymnastics

Dancing – Musical Theatre at Joburg Theatre
Hockey – SA Hockey (currently)
As a runner herself, she has a keen interest in the treatment of runners and other endurance athletes. She believes in a multidisciplinary approach in the management of patients. The treatment of the female athlete is another passion of hers. She believes firmly in educating her patients and arming them with appropriate information.
She also does karate (2nd Dan) and is an enthusiastic, but struggling yogi.

Cindy met Jateen Bhana when he became her patient before his first Comrades marathon and suffered from a stress fracture. She has been stuck with him as a patient since. He became her running coach after completing his Sports Science degree and he helped her run a sub 2h 21,1km, complete her first marathon (Cape Town 2017), and Two Oceans Ultra (2018). They manage a number of runners together and have seen success through a multidisciplinary approach.
